Meet the Maker

Hi! I’m Kirsty (or Kedge, a nickname that’s stuck with me since school), the person behind Kedge & Co. I design, make and package each item myself, and yes, I also handle all the “boring” business admin that comes with running a small handmade business.

I started Kedge & Co in 2024, after nearly ten years as a primary school teacher. I loved teaching, but I wanted to pursue something more creative, swapping lesson plans and classrooms for fabric, thread and a little bit of controlled chaos in my workshop.I have always loved creating things from scratch, whether it is baking, DIY projects, sewing or trying a completely new skill. The idea for Kedge & Co came when a friend asked me to make a fabric notice board she had seen on Pinterest. I said yes, and soon I was creating one for another friend, and just like that, a little side project turned into a business.

Over the last year, Kedge & Co has grown into a collection of lovingly handmade fabric decor and accessories that are designed to last. I care deeply about quality; every product is made to be treasured, not replaced. I also try to make sustainable choices wherever possible, so my creations are not only beautiful, but kinder to the planet.

At Kedge & Co, I love balancing timeless pieces with a sense of surprise. My main collection features core items that are always available, showcasing the heart of the brand. The rest of my creations come in limited-edition drops. Each one-of-a-kind or small-batch collection uses carefully sourced materials, such as deadstock fabrics, rescued textiles or items repurposed from charity shops. Once a drop sells out, it will not return, giving each piece its own story and making it truly special. This approach allows me to be creative, sustainable and ensure every product is unique, just like the people who choose them.Most importantly, I celebrate individuality.
