Meet the Maker

Hi, I’m Kirsty (or Kedge, a nickname that’s stuck with me since school), the person behind Kedge & Co. I design, make and package each piece myself from my Lincolnshire studio, alongside all the behind the scenes work that comes with running a small handmade business.

Kedge & Co began in 2024 after nearly ten years as a primary school teacher. I loved teaching, but I felt ready for a more creative path, swapping lesson plans and classrooms for fabric, thread and a little bit of controlled chaos.

I have always loved making things from scratch, from sewing to DIY projects, and the idea for Kedge & Co started with a simple yes to a friend who asked for a fabric notice board. One turned into a few more, and before I knew it, a small side project had grown into something much bigger.

What started as personalised pieces has naturally evolved into something a little different. Kedge & Co is now all about creating items that feel truly personal, not just through names or initials, but through the fabrics and details you choose. It is about designing something that reflects your style and feels like you.

Each piece is handmade to order with care and intention, using thoughtfully sourced fabrics wherever possible. I am always looking for ways to make more mindful choices, whether that is working with smaller batches, using deadstock fabrics or creating pieces that are made to last.

Alongside my core collection, I also create small, limited runs using carefully chosen fabrics. These are often one of a kind or made in very small quantities, making each piece feel even more special.

At the heart of it all, Kedge & Co is about individuality. Creating pieces that fit into your life, your home and your style, and that you will love for years to come.
